Scam Savvy

by | Sep 1, 2021 | Learn

Have you ever received a phishy phone call? How about a strange-smelling email, or a scary pop-up telling you that Microsoft needs you to click the flashing neon sign? Are you a pro at spotting a scam? Unfortunately, even the pros get duped sometimes. The best we can do is try to stay informed and be shrewd.

There are several YouTube channels dedicated to helping us with that. One of my favorites operates under the pseudonym Jim Browning. In his videos, Mr. Good Hacker hacks bad hackers WHILE they scam people. He records the action, explains what is happening, and does his best to reach the victims and warn them. Watch one of those every day, and you’ll get shrewd by simple exposure.

If you have advice for “Mr. Browning”, be sure to leave a comment. We need him at his best. Go to YouTube.com and search for Jim Browning Tech Support Scams. You’ll recognize him by this logo. Or just click here for his intro video.
